Our Board Members

Sam Han
Chairman

Sam (Sang Man) Han is the Chairman of the Han-Schneider Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports underprivileged children living in economically underdeveloped countries. He is also the President of Japan-America Foundation, Co-Chairman of the National Drug Task Force, Chairman of the Los Angeles River Project, and Chairman of the Korean-American Veterans Association.

Han received his Masters of Business Administration from Stanford University. He lives in Southern California with his wife, son and two daughters.

Romy Han
Board of Director

Romy is Sam’s daughter and Dr. Schneider’s grand-daughter. After graduating from USC’s School of Business, she now works in the fashion industry and owns a retail boutique in Los Angeles. She is an avid snowboarder and biker, loves the outdoors, and loves to cook.

Randy Anderson
Board of Director

Randy Anderson established himself as an executive administrator in the non-profit sector, serving as the Executive Director of the Chiefs of Police National Drug Task Force and the National Coalition for Drug-Free School Zones. Randy also worked for the Young Astronaut Council and Citizens Against Government Waste. He has provided strategic planning, business development and government liaison services for several organizations and corporations.

After his government service managing the Anthrax Response Team for postal facilities in 2002, Mr. Anderson founded World MedCorp to place international health care professionals in U.S. hospitals. More recently, Randy expanded the business to include job placement services for all corporate workforce needs specializing in seasonal labor.

Robert Schneider
Board of Director

Robert A Schneider has over twenty-five years experience in the medical device and surgical products industry. Mr. Schneider specializes in the sales and marketing of small medical device companies bringing new products to the medical community. Robert has worked in a variety of specialties including Ophthalmology, Gynecology, General Surgery and most recently, Wound Care. Mr. Schneider is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BA in Speech Communications and is a licensed Mediator through Hamline University, St. Paul Minnesota.

DS Gwon
Board of Director

Mr. Kwon graduated from a Unversity in Korea and started a business in logistics involved with the cargo shipping industry. In 1987 he came to the United States where he owned and operated his international cargo company.  For the past 12 years he has supported, schooled, and helped Chinese students from North East China.  He has great passion and love for all children which was instilled in him by his father who was a great minister.  He is now married with two sons and resides in Southern California.

Robert DiVito
National Advisory Board

Robert L. DiVito has several years of experience in banking sector, prison industry, and property appraisal field. He also has worked in a ministry in Long Beach, California. Mr. DiVito has been happily married for 39 years and he has 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren. Mr. DiVito earned his Bachelor’s degree in Implied Management/ Human Resources from Grand Canyon University and currently studying for his Master’s degree in Management and Leadership at Webster University.

Les Hamasaki
National Advisory Board

Les Hamasaki is the Managing Director of the Tom Brandley Legacy Foundation and Gallery at the UCLA Dashew International Student Center. He is also the president of Sun Utility Network Incorporation and the chairman of the Green Technology Institute, Earth Day Committee, and the Azusa Street Memorial Committee. Mr. Hamasaki worked for the City of Los Angeles Urban Planning and Community Development Department for over 14 years. He served on the board of directors of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, Peru California Economic Partnership Council and Ugandan Investment Authority of California. He is also the Vice President of the Los Angeles Planning Commission under Mayor Riordan. Mr. Hamasaki received a B.A. degree in environmental planning from California State Polytechnic University

Gary Welton
National Advisory Board

Gary M. Welton has over 30 years of experience in the business sector including business development, financial management, human resources, client development and public relations. He is also an active member of several national business organizations that promote professionalism and ethics. Mr. Welton is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BFA in Fine Arts and is a practicing artist with major national and international exhibitions to his credit.

Kaz Fujita
National Advisory Board

Mr. Kaz Fujita, a third generation Japanese American, is the founder and President of Idea Resource Systems, a marketing research and consulting firm in Los Angeles, California. With well over 40 years of marketing and business experience in both U.S. and Japan, Mr. Fujita provides insight, advice and unique business perspectives to both his Japanese and American clientele. His idea of “out of box thinking is the best path to creating new big ideas” has influenced numerous top companies. Through his seminar he has been able to successfully help people that were unable to create new business or product ideas by teaching the process of idea creation.

Rev. Keith Stewart
National Advisory Board

Keith Stewart has been involved in ministry since 1983. He served in various leadership roles at Durban Christian Center in South Africa for 14 years and engaged in a large ministry in the USA for 6 years before establishing his own. Mr. Stewart also served as the Director of national recruiting for Concord Solutions LLC in 2006. He helped establish an off shore recruiting center in India to acquire global technical talent. Mr. Stewart is presently the Resource Manager for IT at Dr Pepper Snapple Group. Mr. Stewart has a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He has been married for 24 years and lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife, son and daughter.

Senator Paull Shin
National Advisory Board

Senator Paull H. Shin (Washington) is the Chairman of the Senate Higher Education Committee and has been the Vice President Pro Tempore of the Washington State Senate since 2005. He is the Past Chair of the Senate International Trade and Economic Development Committee, and a member of the Senate Economic Development, Trade, and Management Committee, Senate Agriculture and Rural Economic Development. The Senator has 31 years of teaching experience as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Asia Pacific Studies Program at Central Washington University, a Professor at the Shoreline Community College, and Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland's Hawaii Campus.

Senator Shin was also the 21st District Representative of the Washington State House Representatives from 1993-1995 before becoming Senator in 1999. He received his Ph.D. from University of Washington in 1997. He also has a Master of Arts Degree from Washington University, a Master of International Affairs from University of Pittsburg and a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.

Senator John Lim
National Advisory Board

John Lim is the Founder and Chairman of Royal Jelly Company and a member of the Board of Trustees of George Fox University since 1996. He was the Honorary Deputy Sheriff of Multnomah County in Oregon from 1996 to 2001. He has also served as the Executive Board Member of Pacific North West Economic Region. In 2002, Mr. Lim was awarded the Republic of Korea's second-highest honor, the Mok Ryun Chang Medal.Mr. Lim was the Elected Interim Oregon State Senator of District 25 in 2004 and was the Chairman of Oregon State Senate Trade and Economic Development Committee from 1995 to 2000. He has a Doctor of Political Science (Honorary) from Yosu National University and he earned his Master of Divinity from Western Evangelical Seminary and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from Seoul Theological College.

Keenan Fagan

Keenan Fagan is a university educator at Kookmin University in Seoul, where he teaches English and serves as the English Communications Advisor to the university. In the 14 years that he has lived in South Korea, Mr. Fagan has taught at a number of the most recognized universities in the country, including KAIST, Kyung Hee, and Sungkyunkwon Universities. He has done significant work for North Korean humanitarian causes. Mr. Fagan received his MA in TESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, with ESL K-12 teaching certification for US public schools and Bilingual Multicultural Endorsement in Korean. He is a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.

James Lee
National Advisory Board

James Won Lee is the Chairman of Bluemax Communication Company and Networks Limited in Seoul, Korea and the President of Brentcomm International and Brentwood Enterprises in Los Angeles. He is also a consultant of Boeing Helicopter Company in Philadelphia. Mr. Lee is the founder of Korean American Friendship Association in Seoul, Korea. He has a B.A. in Economics from Seoul National University and a M.A. in Economics from University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Kiyoshi Kurokawa
National Advisory Board

Dr. Kurokawa serves as Special Advisor to the Cabinet. He is Professor, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo. He is Commissioner of the WHO Commission for Social Determinants of Health and Chairman, Health Policy Institute, Japan. Dr. Kurokawa is a leader and well known in his professional community both nationally and internationally. He is a recipient of Order of Purple from the Government of Japan for Excellence in Academic Achievements in 1999.

Vicki Schneider Velasquez
National Advisory Board

Vicki Schneider Velasquez is a small business owner in Yarnell, AZ and volunteers as the President of the Yarnell-Peeples Valley Chamber of Commerce. Art Schneider was her uncle and Godfather. Vicki has managed small businesses and her parent’s commercial properties for twenty-five years. She has served on many non-profit boards. Vicki’s greatest achievement is having raised two wonderful children who, as adults, also volunteer to better their communities.

Dr. Michael (Sunki) Choe
National Advisory Board

Sunki “Michael” Choe has been working for the Federal Government for the last 25 years as an analyst at the State Department and as a senior education/training officer at the Defense Department. Before joining the Federal Service, Michael taught for 15 years at college/university level, holding both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including Ph.D., in the fields of History and Political Science. A member of St. John United Methodist/Presbyterian USA, Michael has served in various leadership capacities on the church Council and Committees as an elder. As an educator, Dr. Choe has also served on the Advisory Committee to the Howard County Board of Education in Maryland. Prior to coming to the United States, Dr.Choe had volunteer work experiences at the inception of the Holt Adoption Program in Korea, parent body of the Holt International Children’s Services of today.

Kyung Sook Hahn
National Advisory Board

Kyung Sook Hahn, known as Susan Hahn, born in South Korea, lost her father during the Korean War when she was only 6 months old. It wasn’t easy for her widowed mother to support her two little children with no viable means of support. But, looking back, Susan is grateful to have experienced the hard and painful time in the early stage of her life because she now knows she couldn’t be where she is today without the helping hands of the generous souls around her.

Nancy Purcell'
National Advisory Board

Nancy Cooke Purcell is very grateful to come on board with the Han Schneider Foundation. Since becoming a Christian in her early twenties and graduating from the School of Evangelism at Youth With A Mission, she has had a strong call on her life to prayer for the nations. In 2000, after visiting the DMZ in Korea she heard a strong call to get involved in praying for North Korea.

She’s a member of the North Korean Freedom Coalition, a leader in the Board of Directors for 318 Partners and on several prayer groups which intercede for Korea. She is Director of ELI Homestay Delaware and Coordinator of the Host Family Program at the University of Delaware’s English Language Institute.

Nancy homeschooled her two children and her youngest one is now in his 12th year of school, heading off to college in 2011. She earned her AA at Centenary College for Women, her BSed and MSed at the University of Delaware.
