Current Projects
The Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation is currently working in three countries: Cambodia, Tanzania and North Korea. Although foundation has eight other countries on its charter, we are only working with these three in order to best serve the children. As the foundation grows, we will look to expand into other countries depending on the greatest need.
Cambodia
The orphanage, located seven kilometer south of Phnom Penh, is managed by our partner Hischild International Service (hischild-international.com). Hischild started as a street mission with a large converted bus and has been serving children for 15 years. About 60 children currently reside at the center and a school that'll offer kindergarten to high school education is under construction. 15 NGO workers from various countries are living and working with the children. The street mission bus serves about 700 kids a week.
North Korea
Currently, the Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation is working with two of the forty-four state run orphanages in North Korea. One orphanage is located in P’yongsung, 48 kilometers north of P’yongyang, and cares for approximately 1,200 children with ages ranging from infancy to twelve years old. The other orphanage is located in Sariwon, 80 kilometers south of P’yongyang, and cares for over 350 children ranging in age from infancy to five.
Tanzania
The Tanzania orphanage is a work in progress. We are working with our partner, Mission Segaero, building an orphanage, educational center and chapel for the children. It is located on a two acre plot of land just outside of Dar es Salaam. We are targeting to be able to care for over 300 children. Currently, we built a temporary chapel to accommodate 100 children for worship.
