2nd Annual Benefit Dinner Event, “A Celebration of Korean Culture”

The Han-Schneider International Children's Foundation (HSICF) is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of children in orphanages in North Korea, Cambodia and Tanzania. We will be hosting a benefit dinner event themed “A Celebration of Korean Culture,” along with a silent auction at The Los Angeles Athletic Club, 431 W. 7th St., Los Angeles, CA 90014, on Friday, October 22, 2010

HSICF founder Sam Han will be giving a keynote speech of inspiration and hope centered around his own story and the mission of HSICF. Sam Han, who was orphaned during the Korean War, started the non-profit in 2007 in honor of his late adoptive father Dr. Arthur Schneider. Sam Han was recently diagnosed with terminal multiple myeloma, a rare form of bone marrow cancer. In between exhausting treatments for his illness, Sam spends his time running foundation operations from home with the hope of saving as many disadvantaged children and orphans around the world.

Guests will enjoy cocktails, wine, live music, and traditional Korean folk dance as they peruse the silent auction items, which include a one-week stay at a Carolina beach house, several pieces of art from renowned artists, jewelry, airline tickets, golf packages, autographed sports memorabilia, and several other items. All proceeds will go towards funding future shipments of food, medicine, clothing, and other essentials to orphanages in North Korea, Cambodia, and Tanzania.
