Randa Hamden grew up in Southern California. She holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is planning to pursue a career in Medicine. While a student at UCSB, Randa interned at Direct Relief International and was a founding member of Street Health Outreach at UCSB. This small, student organization worked with a group of local physicians, Doctor's Without Walls, to bridge the gap between healthcare and the homeless. Throughout her undergraduate years she also worked as a Behavior Therapist for children with Autism; she will continue working as a therapist until she matriculates to medical school where she hopes to gain the practical and clinical experience needed to provide medical care to people in underdeveloped countries.
